What is Keratoconus?

Keratoconus is a progressive degeneration of the cornea (the first lens of the eye).This pathology is often hereditary, progressive and often occurs in both eyes.It induces corneal deformation which supposes a progressive increase of astigmatism and therefore a significant loss of vision.In order to treat its progression and avoid a possible corneal transplantation, it is important to detect it in an early stage.
